Full Pledge Commments from Toni Guarino

My family came here in 1910. We were poor Italian immigrants who were discriminated against from the moment we set foot on America's shore. We certainly never owned slaves; we were practically slaves ourselves. Even if my ancestors had owned slaves, why would I pay for their sins? If my grandfather robbed a bank but was never brought to justice, should I be thrown in jail? No; it was not my sin. Reparations for slavery would be wrong in every way, making those who are not responsible give their hard-earned money to those who don't deserve it. The slavery that ended 150 years ago affects no one today, and statistics prove it. I WON'T PAY!
