Full Pledge Commments from Joseph Winstanley

When I first heard of this ludicrous campaign, I thought that it was entirely too abstract and surreal to even consider serious. I have just read that a lawsuit has successfully been entered in the courts by Deadria Farmer-Paellmann. The city that the lawsuit was filed in was not named in the Associated Press article. The article states that "slavery is a wound that fails to heal, condemning blacks in America to more poverty, unemployment, poor education and clashes with the justice system than other Americans."

"They lag behind whites according to every social yardstick: literacy, life expectancy, income and education," the lawsuits say. "They are more likely to be murdered and less likely to have a father at home."

This statement in itself is absolutely hilarious to me. These issues have nothing to do with the fact that Negroes were once slaves, but rather that the moral fiber and family value systems that make for good successful citizenship and prosperity are not present in the homes where these negative elements in society occur. Let's call a spade a spade. A woman, regardless of race, who has multiple children fathered by multiple men, and no father in the home has nothing to do with slavery. It has to do with that woman jumping into bed with whoever she pleases with no regard for the consequences. I'll be DAMNED if I'm going to pay slavery reparations because she is not going to have enough control over her libido to use contraception.

The article further states: "Slavery was a tragic chapter in our nation's history," and that is very true, and it is also a tragic chapter in world history past and present. It has been proven that whitey did not go into Africa and round Negroes up to enslave them. Negroes did that themselves. They were more than willing to make a buck by selling their brothers off into slavery. Don't come to me 200 years later and tell me that I've got to pay for that. I have never been to Africa, never owned a slave, don't know of any one of my ancestors who did, and quite possibly have ancestors that may have been enslaved under Pharoah in Moses' time. Does that mean that I have a claim against Egypt? It's time that these people get a life and wake up to the fact that their own racism is the cause of ill will, hatred and fans the flames of continued racism. They want to blame blame blame, because it is easier than just standing up, squaring their shoulders and walking forward into the future with dignity and pride. They are truly enslaved by their own racism, which is OK, apparently for Negroes to exhibit. And finally, if any person, black, white, yellow, or brown is unhappy in this wonderful country we live in...LEAVE! Go back to your homeland. See how good you have it there. See if you'll have any freebies from the government. See if you like starving to death. Complain as much as you want to. Just get the hell out of the country I am proud to be a part of, despite the many mistakes our people have made in making the United States great. Now THAT, yes indeed, I would contribute to that fund in a skinny minute!
